USA RN licensure renewal - in UK

Hey!

I have an active nursing license in the state of GA, and am an American citizen.

I recently (Jan 2019) moved to the UK to work as an RN and have been working here since February 2019. I am trying to renew my USA GA license and am curious if anyone else has done this process.

The GA board of nursing offers a few options for renewing your license, one of which is working 500 hours. I have worked well over that in the UK and was hoping someone would know if they would accept the 500 hour form to be filled out by my UK hospital?

Or any other tips on renewing your license when you're out of country. Any advice from licensure in other US states would be great as well, doesn't have to be GA specific.

Hello - I am wondering if you have a UK nursing license as well or are you working on your US license in the UK? I have a US license but I am a dual citizen and I have been working on my UK license for nearly three years but have received very little help or guidance from the NMC. Do you have any advise on this matter?

Hello,

When you move to the UK and obtain a job as a nurse here, you have to have a UK license. You need to have a valid education as a nurse in the US obviously and therefore have a US nurse license in order to apply for a UK nurse license. NMC doesn't help with very much at all, and at times has actually given me incorrect or out of date information. I maintain my American license as a potential backup, plus it would be frustrating to try to obtain again after it has expired.

Hello, I’m just starting my

journey to get my license here in the UK. I’ve worked for a few years in the USA and have a valid license there. Do you know if I will have to sit through the written and practical testing? Did you have to? Tried to look for answer to this everywhere, but can’t seem to find it!
