The UK doesn't have a green card. Unless you are a skilled worker and for nursing meet the jobs that are on the occupational list (do a search it is listed in this forum) then you are going to find it very hard to find a employer and get a work permit.
Just look at this website and you will see that most job adverts state that they are not willing to assist getting work permit NHS Jobs

Hi Silverdragon102. I'm new year and currently an Accelerated BSN-RN student at NYU. I will hopefully be earning my BSN and RN in the Fall 2010 here in the USA, but just over a year and a half ago I married a man from the UK. We are *thinking* of moving back in a few years but we're not sure. Do you know if I would have to resit all of my nursing courses and RN exam if I did move to the UK? And how does it work for obtaining a job if I married a UK subject/citizen?
Thank you! :)

You will have to meet NMC requirements for overseas trained and they will make the decision. You will then need to sort out working in the UK. Usually married to a UK citizen means for most you can work as long as you apply before you arrive in the UK. I have enclosed a link that should help
