I'm starting a post masters in the adult/gero np program at USA this fall. I still need to complete my patho, pharm, and adv. assess. classes. The program will take the same time to complete as if I started from scratch... I just don't have to double up on classes every semester. I emailed the nursing department about the orientation and she said it's different for everyone, but most do it the summer(August) before clinical rotations start. So for me that would be next summer. She also said our advisor will direct us. As far as the negative posts, I have a friend who just finished the PNP at USA, and passed boards. She felt the program was good, doable, and didn't have any major complaints. I have applied to 3 schools, SLU, USA, UAB. I've been accepted into SLU and USA...still waiting on UAB, but I'm going with USA. It is not far from New Orleans, and alot of nurses from the area have gone to their bridge program before it was available in New Orleans. I feel good about it, so far I've emailed the school a few times and have always received an answer within 1 day. Congrats, and keep in touch...I register August 1 for Patho...what classes are you taking?
I'm in the family psych NP track for fall 2011. I transferred in 9 credits so I'm not sure what I'll take in the fall. I have taken advanced Patho, advanced Pharm, theoretical foundations and policy( but I'll have to retake policy since they only take 9 credits). I guess I'll see what they offer.

Is anyone starting USA fall 2011 MSN/FNP program. If so do you you know when the orientation dates will be? Also, any recent grads with any advice or atleast what I can expect. Would like to hear something positive, it seems that I keep finding negative things about their program.:)
