I am a grad student in the United States looking for a nurse who would be willing to share his or her experinces as a nurse overseas. In my professional issues class we need to complete a project that profiles the nursing role in another country and I am wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out! I would love to hear more about the nursing profession in the UK. Thanks!

Hi.....ask away I'll help in any way that I can! :)
Would I be able to ask you question about your nursing career and work environment? We could start with the basics such as where were you born, where did you go to school, and where do you live and work now? It says above in your profile that you specialize in nephrology, correct? How long have you been a nurse and have you always worked in the same area?
Ok....Well I was born in montreal, Canada. My family moved to England when I was 15, I did my nursing degree at Hull university, and currently still live in the subburbs of Hull. I work at a Major city hospital which is part of an NHS trust.
I have been a registered nurse now for just over three and a half years. I started as a band 5 (entry level) registered nurse on a very busy nephrology/gen med ward. after 18 months post qualifying I was promoted to senior registered nurse on the same ward and I'm still currently in that position. So I'm still on the ward that I qualified on (for the moment).
