US Citizen with Kenyan RN, transfer license to CA?

Hi I am a CA, USA resident. I am traveling in Nairobi Kenya and want to complete my RN degree here and transfer back to CA to work there in the future.

I am a US citizen so I am assuming the process will be much easier than a non US citizen. Can someone guide me on how to work in CA with a Kenyan RN and US citizen status?

What are the challenges of doing this?

hi, wound like to add my 2cents, I sat for my nclex last year and passed, did my training in kmtc...board requirements varies, like in ohio where I completed my application, foreign nurse applicant must submit the toefl to the board. I had my transcript evaluated by cgfn, please note that cgfn goes by board requirements, foreign licence is not a requirement in ohio. Was only on f1 at the time and the whole application only took me abt 4months before i was eligible for the exam. am not sure abt nairobi hospital, but i read online of a lady who had to add a psychology class for training to meet the full standards.
