Hi,
I don't know if Binghamton University (SUNY) is close to Syracuse but I hear very good thing about this school. Plus, it is a state school which mean less $$$ .
Good luck!

Bu isn't really all that great. I went to Broome Community College. You get a great experience there. As a freshman, I was teaching seniors at BU so much. I was shocked that they knew so little. At BCC we start clinicals our first semester. BU doesn't start till there senoir year. Nurses on the floor told us that they prefered BCC students over BU anyday. We were prepared and BU needed a babysitter. NO joke !!!
You want a good college.....TC3 in Dryden.

Binghamton is about 2 hours from Syracuse...
Either SUNY: Binghamton (BSN) or
SUNY: Broome Community College (ASN) are good...we are looking at about 99% to 100% passage of NCLEX...and the staff is very nice!
I have heard from multiple people that Delhi is good academically but that they make you feel like crap getting thru. it...I have heard this from multiple people who did graduate but said that they would never do it again there if they had to do it all over again.
Anyone out there have good experiences there?
Thanks for the warning, I start there in 17 days!

Yes! I agree...I am there now...
I have heard this of alot of 2yr. programs VS. 4 yr. Nrsg
4 yr programs...tend to focus on theory VS. 2 yr...need to get to the "meat" sooner...alot of info. in a shorter timespan...
The best way everyone says is to start with the 2 yr....get the ASN and the better experience...then go for the BSN later...the best of both worlds.
I have heard from all the RNs I've talked to ...that there no difference between in job or pay between the two...until you get to the MSN...even then...not always.

I go to SUNY Binghamton. I really like the nursing program at my school. And as a reply to goodluckbear, we don't start our clinicals senior year. We take our pre-reqs the first 2 years and then we start clinicals our JUNIOR year. Also, hospitals in NYC recognize Decker as an excellent nursing school and contuniually recruit new grads.
