Hi AllNurses community! I have been searching for a thread for the UPMC Mercy Hospital Class of 2015, but alas; no such luck. Therefore, I created one!
I was accepted to start in August 2013 and was looking for others who were, or are looking to be accepted. I know it's early still, but I am ready to start school and secure a study group.
Now to my question: I know Mercy has a tuition contract. Does anyone know anything about it? Is it a good deal? I know they are sending information about it, but I am interested in hearing opinions.
Thanks!
I have everything checked off my "to do" list except taking the CLEP. I can't remember when they said the test had to be completed by? Does anyone remember? Also, for those that had their uniforms shipped, have they arrived yet? Mine still haven't gotten here yet. Just wondering if I needed to call and check on them. I didn't buy nursing shoes from them. Does anyone know of a nursing/uniform store that may have a wider selection of shoes? Thanks!!
Can't wait to start and get to know you all more.
@Lindsey, the CLEPs need to be taken by the first day of school (for courses in the first year that you are clepping out of, and December for the second year courses. Life uniform in Oakland has a pretty good selection. I got a pair of white leather Danskos. I figured they'll last FOREVER (I have 2 other pair of Danskos that I LOVE), but any uniform store should carry them. In the malls, there's a store called work'n gear.
Hey guys....I got my scrubs!!! Lindsey...I bought my fundamentals( that came with a study guide) and my pharmacy book. I went to (helpineedbooks.com) you just put in the isbn number and it compares sites for you with different prices. I liked the site a lot because I had choices and usually the lowest price book was decent enough to buy. Has anyone bought the psych book yet. I was probably going to buy just the access code, I read somewhere that if you only buy that, that it has the downloadable text with it! Anyways, anyone let me know if u bought it yet. I can't believe we only have 32 days left! I'm getting really excited/nervous!

They gave us our schedules at orientation in June, but I'm assuming your schedule at St.Mag's will be different.
