UofA Admission requirements

How do they calculate 3.0 average. Is it the last two years or all four years. The website doesn't really specify so I'm assuming all four years. If anyone is in their After Degree program or has applied, please help! I'm getting so nervous!

Pretty sure it's the last 2. That's also how they run admissions for their grad program.

Awesome thanks,

I'm currently in the AD program. I believe they look at your last 30 or 60 credits (I can't remember which). There is a reason for the competitiveness - it's an intense program!

Cheers, good luck!

What was your gpa getting in..if you dont mind me asking?

I don't remember exactly - around 3.3 maybe? I had done a few courses on their own (e.g. psychology, another 400 level course) so it was easy to get a good mark in those courses when you do them one at a time. I would really recommend doing some courses prior to applying to make your semester load lighter - you are competing against other students (they curve/group your marks) but some of the other students may not have as heavy of a course load as you. Do something straight forward like anatomy....

From the UofA website, it says they calculate your Admission GPA from your last two terms of study, so for most people that's probably about the last 30 credits. I know for the last few application cycles the AGPA cutoff to receive Early admission has been about 3.3. I think if you're anywhere above 3.0 and you apply early enough, it should work out fine for you.

I posted a link for you to check out - it's directly from the UofA Office of the Registrar AGPA section.

UofA Registrar - Early Admission

Good luck!

I think my grades are good enough for early admission.. its just that i have to go back and take microbiology and english. I'm enrolled in those courses for jan.
