Hi, I am wondering if there are any people applied/applying for the UNLV BSN program for Summer 2011. I heard that the summer program is less competitive compared to the fall and spring semesters, but the cutoff line seems to be getting higher each semester. My question is: with how many points did you apply/will you be applying for the program? I thought it would be nice to know how many points people have since there isn't much information regarding UNLV points on allnurses. I also thought it is nice to get to know our future classmates. I've attended the BSN signing session and applied with 90 points if my calculation is right. I hope this is enough to get in! Good luck to everyone and I am looking forward to reading your replies.

90 points should be good. I applied with 92.3 points, got a call a week later saying I got in. Can't wait to start in May. I'll be one of the guys in the 48 entering. See you in class!

I got it as well! A lady at the SON told me that 80 people applied for Summer 2011 and the cutoff line was about 87 points. To me, 87 is rather high because a couple of semesters ago a pre-nursing adviser told me that 85 would be enough to get in. It sounds like it is true that competition is getting fierce every semester.

Congrats on you getting in too! Geez! 87, you're right it's gonna get more fierce. I heard for the spring 2011 class the cutoff was lower (84). Wasn't the Summer term supposed to be "easier" to get into?...

Anyhow, are you running around getting your packet done for orientation? How's that going for you?

I'm a newbie on here so I can't PM on here yet but if you want, you can PM or email me. I don't really know anyone in the class and it'd be nice to know a couple people in my class. See you at orientation!

I am all done with the packet now. How's yours going? It's a good thing I already work in the nursing field so I didn't have to get many immunizations and such done. The only job left for me is sewing the school patches on my scrub top and lab coat, lol. Oh, BTW, how many sets of scrubs did you buy? Do you know if we have to wear them for labs? I got only one, but if we have to wear them for both clinical and labs, I should probably buy one or two more sets.

I just need one more immunization shot then I'm done. Yeah, I gotta sew mines on too, once I receive my scrub top and lab coat. I only bought one set. As for lab, I'm not sure, but I would assume that we would wear our scrubs to lab cause we're gonna be practicing on dummies :) I'll see you at orientation.

Usually we wear scrubs 2 days a week, one day for laboratory, and also for clinicals. Lab coats are required for 3 days a week, 1 lecture day, 1 day when you go to your hospital site to pick up patient information, and for clinical days.
