Is anyone else planning on applying to UNLV SON for the summer 2014 start?
The call was really short. They just said you've been accepted and the next step is register you for one of the two orientations being held on 3/25 at 9:30AM or 3/28 at 1PM. Then they said briefly to bring a credit card for the back ground check, drug test and to order your uniform. She said she would also being a sending a letter out this week with all of the information. Good luck to everyone!
The total amount for the items that have to be purchased at the orientation (background check, drug test, uniform) is about $250 she said. Then if it's anything like NSC's checklist that accompanies their acceptance letter, they'll also give you the list of items that you need to purchase on your own before a specific date (CPR class, physical, shots, shoes, watch, bandage scissors, pen light, stethoscope, lab coat etc…). They usually let you register for courses and buy books following orientation as well.
Zazzle has really cute customizable nurse watches as well as allheart.com. My sis-in-law bought me a stethoscope, pen light, and badge holder for Christmas. Guess she has a lot of faith in me. :) She's a PICU charge nurse at Sunrise. Also, Walgreens Healthcare Clinics have all of our vaccinations. I did mine over the last two months. It's free with insurance and you don't need an appointment.

Hello I just joined as well and I have been reading you guys posts. I am applying with 91 points. Seeing that the cutoff last semester was 90.33 I think we all have a good chance at getting in.
