UNLV SON Summer 2013

U.S.A. Nevada

Hey guys,

I'm applying to the Summer 2013 semester at UNLV. My signing session is early February.

It would be great to connect with other 2013 SON hopefuls.

Good luck on micro midterm tomorrow. Studying for that now, have been for the past 4 days. A lot of info but not as bad as I thought it would be.

How about that micro exam one....talk about critical thinking. I got a "B" which was disappointing because I studied my butt off and I felt like it should have been an "A" but some of those questions we way too detailed.

I gave up on calculating my points. Different advisors keep telling me different ways to do it. If the way you did it is correct, then I'll have around the same points as you. The 251 exam wasn't so bad. I managed a 90% But I hated those questions where he put the students drawings and asked us to grade it. I thought it was a bit too biased.

Hey everyone!

I am also a hopeful candidate for being accepted into this upcoming summer term at UNLV; my signing session is on February 21st. :)

I'm a bit nervous because I heard this is the largest pool of applicants UNLV's nursing program has had thus far. Considering the notion that summer term was one of the least competitive terms to get into I was quite shocked to hear they over filled signing sessions.

I'm curious to know if others have heard the same?

I have roughly 92 points & scored a 94 on the HESI. Good luck fellow hopefuls!

I wouldn't worry about it since you have 92 points you should have no problem. A lot of people applying missing prereqs like myself so it sounds like you completed all yours with that high of points.

I figured many people WOULDN'T apply for Summer because most people rely on financial and and it runs our by summertime but that's just not the case this year if there are so many summer applicants they will be payin for school somehow.

Right? Having done all my prerequisites for the past three years I've been following the nursing program closely and I've never heard the advisers speak of such a high number of applicants applying especially for summer; ironically. Supposedly, last summer barely 60 people applied because of the tuition raise. Clearly, that is not an issue for many anymore. aha

Have you attended your signing session yet?

I had my session on the 1st. They don't really give u too much info

Well, good luck to you on getting in!

The verdict will come soon, but in the meantime staying patient will be the challenge. aha

The wait is killing me. How is everyone else doing? Keeping busy?

It's killing me as well! (Hence why I've been on allnurses practically every day aha)

I've been preoccupying myself with work, yoga, writing and any other time consuming activity.

How are you handling it?

A previous applier told me that they begin calling people, who have been accepted, immediately after the deadline date. So, if you don't hear anything at the latest by mid week then you were denied.

Nerve wracking!

I'm on AN daily, too. I know no one's heard anything, yet something keeps me checking this forum. I've been trying to keep busy with work and studying for a couple of exams I have this upcoming week. Downtime is spent stressing out, though.

Since the deadline is Friday, we should hear something by Monday the 4th at the earliest, right?
