University of West Georgia Nursing Program please help!

U.S.A. Georgia

Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone has been through or is currently in West Georgia's nursing program. I heard that over 400 apply and there are 120 spots. If you don't mind, could you please let me know how difficult it is to become accepted? In a week after my grades go in I should have a 3.5-3.7 GPA. In my 5 science classes I have 2 As and 2 Bs and will be taking my chem 2 next semester. I have an 82 on my TEASV, and will be hopefully CNA certified within the next 2-3 months. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help and time!

If you are getting ready to apply, I would recommend that you consider applying at several schools. I am currently at LaGrange College and absolutely love it. I ended up there after applying at several other public schools and getting turned down. Any how I couldn't be happier so I thought I would share. Good luck on your journey.

Sara, I left this for you on another thread. Before I saw you here.

Sara,

I just applied this morning. They have changed all of their requirements this year. They no longer have a Teas, they are taking your GPA of ALL nursing core classes, and unlike other years, ALL attempts will be averaged. They are requiring a writing sample from everyone who applies, but they wont tell you what that is until February. So that being said, you can't go by what any past year has done. So good luck to us both!

Oh goodness! That is so scary! Why wouldn't they take the TEAS that's so strange..So you will know the essay topic before it's due? Like it isn't something you have to go to the school and do in a classroom or something? Do they only look at your core gpa? And one more thing.. how did you apply? I couldn't figure it out. Oh and have you already done the CNA thing? Thank you SO much for all of your help you are so sweet!

Yes you have to be accepted to the school, and have an ID# to apply (Just because you apply to a school does not mean you have to attend) They are being very closed mouthed on the whole writing thing, I am assuming (but you know what they say about people who assume) that they will make us go to the school to do the essay, because they are calling it a "writing session." They are looking at all the classes they require at the time of your application. I still have to take Micro, World History, and Pol science, so they will be looking at every other class I had to have from English to Art. Also unlike in the past, they are counting ALL attempts at a class, so that it evens up the playing field for people who didn't make an "A" and retook a class.
