University of Washington Accelerated BSN program Summer 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello! So I have not seen any posts about the ABSN program at UW for summer 2014 so I figured I would start one! This is my number one nursing school that I would like to be attend and I was wondering who else applied to this program !

I am planning on applying for the summer 2015 cohort. I will not have all my prerequisites finished before the application deadline, however I will have most of them! Was anyone on this thread accepted without all the prerequisites finished?

I know on the website it says a minimum of 3 Natural World prerequisites must be completed at time of application, but I was wondering how this reflected in "real life."

Thank you!

What GPA did you have? Volunteer hours? Experience?

I am pretty sure that anything they say is required on the application is truly required. If you don't have it, you won't be considered. Competition is pretty tough for this program and I know that they weed out people who have not completed requirements before they do the testing phase. They told us this in our orientation.

You definitely do not need to have all of the prerequisites completed before applying. I applied and was accepted and I was missing three class which I am taking now. My GPA was similar to the others who have posted. 3.8 in undergrad and 4.0 in prerequisites. I also had over 4,000 hours of experience because I work in a hospital full time. Try to get a job in some kind of healthcare before applying and really focus on the prerequisites. Good luck! Cannot wait to start in June!
