University of St. Thomas (UST) Houston ABSN - Spring 2023

Published

Hi, I just got accepted for the Spring 2023 Cohort and was looking to find other students that were either applying or have been accepted.

Hi guys! Congrats to all those who have been accepted. I’m currently in my second semester at this program so if you have any questions, I can try my best to answer them for you!

Congratulations on your acceptance! If you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats upon acceptance? GPA, HESI/TEAS Scores? I am applying for this program and I’m a little nervous. Was wanting to compare my scores with someone who recently got accepted

Hi! I have a GPA of 3.34 and a HESI of 89. The earlier you apply the better the chance of being accepted, especially since NursingCAS is its own process

That’s amazing! Yeah I’ve spoken to many alumi from UST’s ABSN program. They’ve all told me its a challenging journey but 100% doable with the correct discipline and time management. I wish you all the best in your journey you’ll do amazing! Don’t forget to write your graduation date down. I heard it helps to stare at it when you feel tired. 12 months of sacrifice and you’ll be golden for life ?

Hi Zoya! I did have one question for you. As of now, which semester have you found to be more challenging? Semester 1 or 2?

When is their deadline for the Spring?

I applied to talk I was about to apply to Spring too cause I’d rather start then but I don’t know if they can just transfer my application instead of me reapplying . I still haven’t got an acceptance though for fall.

Hi! Sorry I completely missed this notification and tbh this semester was rough. Semester 1 was tough because we were still getting into our schedules and routines, trying to figure out what was best for us. However, semester 2 was busy. It wasn’t too bad content wise but because you pick up full speed with studying, exams, and clinicals, it just gets very exhausting. They were both challenging in their own ways but semester 2 was tiring. Personally I found semester 1 a little bit more chill, not to say that it was “easier” but more easily manageable.

How come you got accepted for Spring 2023 with GPA of 3.34 and HESI of 89. But they deny my fall application when I have 3.44 and HESI of 91. That doesn’t even make sense. I’m gonna apply to Spring and if they don’t accept me they’re racist or something. Makes no sense to me.

I don’t think it has to do with racism LOL… a lot of things play part in your acceptance. She may have applied EARLY which guaranteed her a spot. There’s other things to take into consideration like awards, volunteer hours, experience, etc. anything to make you stand out. Your stats are really good. If you could not get in try again they may accept you the second or third time around don't give up

Exactly so I that case I’m a nurse assistant medication aide phlebotomist, experienced in it, was a girl scout and many more. Yeah I Have good stats and I’m only 20 so yeah what else could it be? Honestly? Yeah I’m kidding about the racist apart but not so much like lmao what else could they be looking at and if it’s so competitive why are they got taking the most competitive people. No one feels like wasting their time.
