University of Southern Nevada

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi everyone! I've been told that University of Southern Nevada has a traditional BSN program, meaning they don't require you to be in RN or to have other bachelors degree. I've finished most of the prereq: anat, physio, micro, eng., and other major requirements. Can someone give me information about this university such as the personal experience, tuition fees, status of this school, time it takes to get finish this program, advice, and if there are any catch that we should know about. Please and thank you. :)

Yes, they do offer BSN programs. Their website lists all the prerequisite requirements, and also has information on tuition, curriculum, etc. (University of Southern Nevada: Welcome!). It's more expensive than some public schools because it's a private non-profit, but the quality of education is excellent.

The program takes 21 months to finish. The cool thing about USN that sets it apart from other schools is the way they do the curriculum - it's in "blocks" so you are only taking one class at a time. You won't have to focus on five different classes and then stress out about doing projects, papers, homework, midterms, and finals for several classes. The classes range in length from less than a week to several weeks, and you will take tests on what you are learning every other Friday.

In addition to having the BSN program at their Henderson, Nevada campus, they also opened a BSN program at their South Jordan, Utah campus too. Both programs are accredited.

Sorry, one correction to my previous post. The University of Southern Nevada BSN program is 18 months, not 21.

Thanks soo much. That cleared and answer some of the questions I had. Thanks again. :)
