Hi, I wanted to see how many people on here have applied for USA's acute care NP/Family NP DNP for spring 2011? Did anyone get a phone interview yet? Do anyone know how many applications they've got for spring and what are they looking for to accept into the program?

Hey, I got accepted into the fall 2010 and am just starting the dnp er track now. I never got a phone interview. Like I said, classes just started, feeling overwhelmed but just got done with orientation today and am excited about starting this new journey
also, we asked how many applicants they had for the fall, they wouldn't answer that question. They had accepted about 180 student for the fall (this includes all the DNP programs, not just the ER one). The year before they accepted around 70, if I remember correctly. The faculty did not mention how many they were accepting for the spring. Hope this helps you and good luck!!
Hey! Thanks for replying. I'm a little worry I might not get in. What were the typical GPA and credentials like of those admitted to the ER DNP? Did anyone get in with just their BSN and no RN experience? Thanks again!

Heard acceptance letters will not go out until OCT 1.
Hi, they said they'd email this week to those who got accepted. Did anyone received an email of acceptance from them?

Did anyone get acceptance/rejection to USA ENP for Spring 2011 yet?
Just FYI I got a rejection letter on Saturday Oct 30th. I was able to have email communication with academic advisor at USA on Monday. She said they had 1000 applicants. I asked what I could do to be a stronger applicant for summer but no suggestions were given. I am preparing my application for summer. The deadline is Feb 1st, they said it would be 6-8 weeks to receive word. If my calculations are correct this means I will have to submit my Fall application while I am waiting for word on summer. I think for fall I will apply for DNP just to increase my options.

I hoe you don't mind me contacting you. I start the ENP program at USA in Aug. I asked the program managers if they could hook us up with current/previous students for questions, but no luck. Anyways, one big question I have is the books. I have been looking at the required books list and am wondering what your experience has been...do you need to buy all the books?? any recommendations so far which ones are really "required"?? Also, how many hours are you taking a semester?? When I talked to the advisor, she said she really only recommends people take 2 classes a semester. I will be working full time at least through the first two semesters and am curious how you find the case load. Thank you in advance and hope you are finding your studies challenging and rewarding!
I just started ENP program this summer. I bought the APA 6th edition because it will be needed for every course. I rented the 1 text book that was required from campusbookrentals.com
I would agree that having 2 classes max is best. This one summer class is quite a bit of work since it's condensed. From previous experience I found that 3 courses with working FT and family responsiblities was more than I was comfortable with.
