I'm considering applying for the University of Sioux Falls Accelerated BSN, and I'm wondering if any current/former students have any input about the program? I read on an older allnurses thread that the curriculum only has 400 clinical hours whereas most other ABSN programs have 600+, and I'm curious if that's a detriment? I see on their website that they have the best NCLEX pass rate in the state and a 98% placement rate, so I'd think it's a good program, but I'd love if anybody could share some firsthand experience.

Hi, I also have the same doubt and even sent an email to them. The curriculum only contains 13 courses. How did you sort it finally? I saw this post was 1 year ago and are you a student on their program already? Thank you. Which school did you go for at last? I sent emails to them and got replies. Nice staff and the admission policy on prerequisites are also strict. They do not accept online prerequisites

Hi there! I am a current student in this program and would highly recommend it. With the ongoing COVID situation it has thrown a wrench into our clinical hours just as it has every other program in the nation, but USF is doing everything they can to put us at ease and ensure we graduate on time. All of the faculty and administration I’ve interacted with have been courteous and prompt. I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about the program thus far!

Oh my god!! It’s glad to hear that you have good experience with them. Anything good about this program that you are able to share? please!! I can’t wait to hear all your good experiences about this program in USF. Is it hard to get into? Their curriculum has 13 courses and clinical hours only 500? Is that too few compared to other universities? I know they have nice and supportive staff there. Thank you sooo much!!

I believe they accept the majority of applicants, so I wouldn’t say it’s too difficult to get into. The professors and my classmates have all been very supportive if we struggle with material. Since the school is fully accredited and recognized by the state board of nursing, I don’t feel that there are too few courses or clinical contact hours. They do a good job of teaching us what we need to know in an efficient manner. The low number of required courses also helps make USF one of the most affordable ABSN programs I came across.
WOW! Sounds wonderful!! Thank you. Yes, I searched for it also because it’s the most affordable ABSN for the first reason. Are there any international students there on this program? How many students are in total on ABSN? I like the supportive program advisor there and they are friendly! I searched and found that the graduation rate of them is low? Thank you a lot for sharing

There are a few students in my cohort from other countries, but they have all been living in the states for at least a couple of years. My cohort is around 40 students. I don’t think the graduation rate is low, I believe most years they only lose a handful of students at most.
Hi, how are you doing in this ABSN program? I have received an offer from Augustana university and not sure if I should choose Augustana university of USF. Which one do you recommend? Have you graduated?
