I was wondering if anybody could tell me about USF BSN program? I am currently taking nursing prereq coorifices at a CC but, would like to transfer and go for my bachelor's soon. I have looked at the program outline (http://www.usfca.edu/nursing/bsn/ at the bottom of the page) and have already taken some of the classes that are listed in their freshman and sophmore year outlines.

First of all, do they take transfer credits?

If I have taken a similar coorifice at my CC, can I forfeit taking it at USF? (for example, I took nutrition at my CC, so will I have to re-take the nutrition class offered at USF?)

What kind of financial aid do they offer?

Where do they have their clinical sites?

Most importantly, would you recommend this school?

Thanks:nurse:

hey how you doing, well first of all i am currently enrolled in the usf nursing program and have just finished my first nursing semester, so far it’s good. the instructors there are really motivating and encouraging every step they take to provide you with the best knowledge to succeed in your career.

to answer your transfer credits, i was a transfer student so yes they do accept transfer credits. i took all general education and requirements at my community college and they counted, but the only classes i had to take at usf were an english class, theology, philosophy and ethics. that’s all i needed for upper division

they offer pretty good financial aid to their students from what others students tell me.

there clinical sites are basically all throughout san francisco and some are in san mateo, stanford, and kaiser in san jose

about the nutrition situation, basically everybody had taken that class before enrolling at usf, but they still make you take it again at their school. i am taking nutrition next semester but from what i have heard they say it’s more different, than the nutrition everyone has taken.

i would recommend this school, i feel like it was a good choice i made, and have not regretted going there since it’s a different atmosphere with a lot of diversity so overall good experience so far. good luck

Hey Leonard_huh,

I just applied for spring term 2013 as a transfer student from a bay area community college.. I was wondering how many semesters it takes to complete the program as a transfer student? How much extra curriculum do I have to take aside from the actual nursing classes?

Thanks!
