University of Rochester ABPNN FALL 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey everyone!

So I just wanted to start a fresh new thread for applicants that are interested in the 2017 Fall Cohort at the University of Rochester's ABPNN Program. It seems that a lot of people who commented in previous threads pertaining to this cohort got lost in the threads and never really had their questions/comments/concerns addressed. So I just felt it was best to start a new one!

I applied to the program back in February, but have not yet heard anything. I know that they are wrapping up the acceptances for the May 2017 cohort, but has anyone who applied for Fall 2017 heard anything?

Only had an interview. Still waiting for the letter.

I haven't heard anything. May be a bad sign :-/

When I had my interview they said that they wouldn't be making any decisions until the end of May-early June, unfortunately.

Past threads were talking about interviews/interview requests in like February so naturally i'm a bit worried. At this point, does no interview=no chance?

I honestly think it varies. My interview was last week whereas others had theirs months prior to mine. They have so many applicants and they apparently interview everyone so I wouldn't be too worried. If anything, it cant hurt to give them a call and express your concerns. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The way Nancy made it seem when I emailed her was that my application is being reviewed to determine whether or not I will receive an interview. If not I will receive a letter in June about the Committee's decision. So I'm hoping that I get an invitation to an interview. Good luck to you and thanks for your input!

Yeah I heard late May, early June, some other forums stated 1st or 2nd week of June so it's definitely too early. I think most people get interviewed because Nancy contacted me right after she got my application.

I also got an interview. Waiting on the decisions now. Does anyone know how many students applied for this cohort?

Hi all,

When I had my interview with Marina she said that over 300 applicants applied and they pick 60 to interview and the final class is around 30-35 I believe.

Is anyone planning on relocating to Rochester from another city if you get accepted?

Brianna

I was told the final class is about 60/65 but I'm not sure if they interview everyone or just some. I feel like they wouldn't spend their time interviewing 300+ people if the final class is so small. Has anyone tried to email Nancy on the status of applications/ know how the wait list works?

Hi.. so early June is coming up and I imagine we are all going to be on here anxiously waiting on decisions!!! I am already accepted to one program and am waiting on U of R. Though U or R is kind of expensive, it has great name recognition and I imagine the 12 months will fly by! I have heard many things about the class size of the APBNN program, from 35 - 100, so I'm really not sure how that works... Other than the admissions process, I haven't heard much about the program, which I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing. U of R is a very reputable school with a medical school so I imagine their nursing program would match their reputation.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!
