Congrats!!!! OMG! I'm so jealous! :lol2: but in a good way for you!!!!!!

Any tips or advice on how to win them over? what was your gpa? etc...

Thanks!

It's been a very exciting spring so far! I applied at all of the Portland schools except CCC and Walla Walla and was accepted at two schools and was invited to the MHCC interview. I feel very blessed and very lucky and am very grateful. I'm still waiting for OHSU to reply, but I have to make a deposit before they send out their letters. It's been so hard to find more info from U of P students or graduates. All I have heard is that it's "a great program" and "very hard to get into". I want details! :)

I wish I had some solid advice to give, but I'm not quite sure how they chose their students. For starters, I do not have a perfect 4.0 GPA (it's close, but not quite), and I have a B in Anatomy. My advice would be to do better than I did, but there is still hope with a B! I was lamenting over my grade during a hospital visit with a relative and I met a nurse that had graduated from Walla Walla a fews years ago and I asked him what grade he had in Anatomy. He said it was B. So that gave me hope and the confidence to apply.

I'm really not sure why I got in, but I think my consistent volunteer experience with many different organizations over the years was what helped me the most. I totally recommend it not only for getting into school, but also for being in touch with the people and the needs that are out there. I am not a bleeding heart by any sense of the word, but I have met so many young women that have had heart attacks, and kids with diabetes, and people waiting for kidney transplants, etc. I think when you see all the people you may be working with, it motivates you to get through the classes and you will look better on paper too.

I don't remember an essay, so I think it's mostly based on grades and activities.

I hope that helps at least some, and I wish you the best in applying and maybe I will see you in an incoming class next year!!
