Members are discussing the number of seats offered in a program, with some confusion about the exact number of full-time and part-time spots available. There is also debate about the fairness of offering acceptances early in the interview process and concerns about the scoring system. Additionally, members are inquiring about additional interview dates and waiting for acceptance notifications by the end of the month.
Hi all, just submitted my app on 11/10 and attended a zoom information session last night. Good luck everyone!

Looking back on previous years, people were accepted very late and people who had originally received a denial were offered acceptance. Pitt's process is different from other programs. I know Dr Goode said everyone is still in it until they finish their process. Trust the process, don't lose faith, all of our times will come and we will end up exactly where we're supposed to be.
True. I'm in the same boat but I'm probably hedging my bet on a waitlist. Really felt I crushed that interview, not sure how I ended up scoring on their system. Fingers crossed for a 412 area code phone call any day now

Same I felt like I crushed the interview. I was always under the assumption that the interview is what makes or breaks your final say in things. Unless they just make their final decision based on their scoring system.

I remember the director saying at the end of the interview that they score how you performed during the interview, add up a total, then add that to your pre interview score, which was the score of all your submitted application materials (transcripts, essay, certifications, etc...). Based on the combined score, he said that people who scored a certain number or above (he never mentioned the number) would be getting calls for acceptance because those people who met that score always were accepted in previous years. He also stated that for those who didn't score as high they would continue interviewing people until they felt was enough (I think he mentioned between 140-160 ppl) and would go back to their list of people and select the higher scoring individuals for acceptances until all spots were filled.

Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping that once these last 2 interviews are done that we will hopefully hear an answer and won't have to wait till June like other people did.Â
CtophWhodat said:Good luck everyone. Did they really say there's only 2 more interview spots this year? That's crazy given every previous thread goes deep into June/ July even. Good for them not torturing people with the wait.Â
Yeah he said about 2-3 more... maybe they received feedback.Â
A lot of people had to decline their acceptances last year ( I know 4 ppl) due to being notified so late. They ended up going to other schools.Â
