I am not aware of the U of Phoenix program. The U of Illinois Chicago has an all online post baccalaureate school nurse certificate program. The 3 courses are at the 500 graduate level. It is 10 credits total, $635 per credit, in state or out of state. The cut off date for Fall admission is July 15th.

The website says you have to be on campus for the first and last day, but that is only required if you are needing the State of Illinois ISBE School Service personnel certificate.
A BSN is not needed, but a public health nursing class and a health assessment class are preequisites. For ADNs, there is an all online RN - BSN program - it takes 1 year full time, 2 years part time: http://www.uic.edu/nursing/programs/bsn-about.shtml
There was supposed to be another all online school nurse certificate program in NJ, but I did not hear if it started yet. The U of NM has a program, but no classes are being offered for Fall 2007, and they were not sure when they would be offered again. For more information email Dr. Jackie Ryberg, [email protected]

I am bumping this thread. I am looking into school nursing and am interested in the U of Phoenix online certificate program. If anyone has taken this course please share your experiences!
Be aware that the U of Phoenix Certificate program is neither a national certificate nor a state certificate program. It is a university certificate with a small c.
It is also a LOT of courses / credits. I honeslty would get the masters if you are going to take that many classes.
That is EXACTLY what I was thinking... that program has way more credits than the other SN certificate programs I have been looking into... if I were to do that one I might as well get my MSN!
Thanks for the info... I will probably end up physically going to a campus nearby if I do it.
