University of Oklahoma Nursing School OKC

U.S.A. Oklahoma

Hello, I am a senior in high school this year and will be going off to college next year. I know I want to go into nursing but I'm still torn on which school I would like to go to. I know I would not start nursing school until at the earliest my junior year, but since the OU nursing school is not located in Norman, it plays a big role in my decision on where to go to college. I am debating between the University of Missouri and the University of Oklahoma. My question is, has anyone ever lived in Norman and commuted to OKC for nursing school? If so, was it an easy commute and how often were you commuting? That may be a dumb question, I'm kind of clueless when it comes to nursing school. Thanks!!

Find any school to study LPN first and then apply to the community college where you live to get RN. Why? Because when you get a LPN, you will get a preference point to enroll for RN in community college. Moreover, you can get a little money with LPN part time jobs while studying for RN.

Commuting from Norman to OKC? That's only a 10 mile commute at the most. To be honest, I wouldn't even call it a commute.

I commuted from Fort Worth, Texas to OKC to attend school. The commute was 225 miles one-way. If I can cross state lines to attend school in OKC, you can cross the city line and travel 10 miles to attend school in OKC.

Thank you for the honesty. I live in Dallas as of now so I can see how dedicated you were driving all the way to OKC from Ft. Worth! Thats quite a long drive for school. I realize it is in fact a 25 mile drive from Norman to OKC, which is farther than I would like to drive everyday- especially in rush hour traffic. Nonetheless, I have decided to attend OU next fall despite the fact that the nursing school is not on campus.
