Members are discussing the delay in receiving interview invitations for a CRNA program due to the school waiting for accreditation. Some members did not receive emails about the interview timeline, while others shared updates from admissions about the interview scheduling process. There is anticipation and hope for good news regarding interview calls and accreditation in the coming days.
Hey everyone! Thought I would start a thread for UNLVs new program!
They'll most likely get accredited and want to keep in the loop 🙂
It's a general email to applicants . I'm sure it's possible they left out emails as it was a mass message and sounds like they received a lot of applications . I've included it here . Hope this helps !
Good morning CRNA Applicants,
I hope this email finds you well! I wanted to give a few updates regarding the admissions timeline. At this time, we still have not heard back for the Council of Accredititation and are still awaiting their decision.
Due to the volume of applications, we are pushing back our interview timeline. Interviews will now be scheduled for June 25-27th. I'm hopeful that I can start scheduling interviews starting Friday, but expect to hear from me next week!
Upon admittance, there will be a $1,000 required seat deposit that will go towards the first semester of tuition, as well as our Graduate Orientation, scheduled for July 24th and 25th.
Please note that meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission decisions are based on applicants meeting the minimum Graduate College requirements and a more extensive departmental review that is based upon competitive selection. Selection is based on the applicant's qualifications (academic and professional), the applicant's strengths, and the number of available openings. We are anticipating admitting 15 students as our inaugural cohort.
Thank you all for taking the time to submit your applications, we truly appreciate your interest in UNLV!
Warm regards,
I would imagine they're delaying interviews as best as they can until COA makes a decision. It certainly would be a bit awkward if they put together a cohort for a program that didn't get accredited. 170 applicants for 15 spots isn't uncommon. Other programs I've looked at for this app cycle have had 400+ apps for 20 spots in previous years.

Right. Hopefully Friday we all get good news so we aren't thinking about it all weekend

That is odd because I did receive previous emails from the department.
