Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi Everyone!

I know that it’s super early, but the application JUST opened up this past Saturday February 1st, so I thought I’d start up a thread.

I submitted my application on the 1st and I’m wishing all of you the best of luck!

has anyone made a FB group for accepted students in this cohort yet?

Hi guys,

I just want to ask...do you all have any idea on how competitive this program is? Because my cumulative GPA is 2.83 but my nursing prereqs GPA is a 3.48. Is there any flexibility at all if your cumulative GPA is slightly below 3.0 if your nursing prereqs GPA is decent/good?

Also are the TEAS/HESI required for this program?

This is one of my top choices and I want to get in so badly :(

Hey, according to the UM website you need at least a 3.0 minimum cumulative and prerequisite GPA. You do not need to take TEAS or HESI for this program. You should reach out to an admissions advisor to see whether you can apply regardless of your cumulative GPA. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Yeah I'm trying to reach out to an admissions person right now

Are there any other programs around the Miami/southern Florida region you would reccommend for my stats?

I started an application with Keiser but tbh I'm kinda nervous about it because they used to be for profit and because bad reviews.

I believe MDC has an accelerated program which is three semesters long. This one does require TEAS.

Ahhh but this seems like only associates not bachelor's ?

So should I just apply to UMiami even with my 2.8 cumulative GPA and just hope for he the best?

Were you able to speak to an admissions advisor or recruiter ? They can definitely let you know if your application will be considered for admission.

No I wasn't! I've been looking for an admissions counselor phone number today but couldn't find one on their website.
