It's almost been a year since you entered the program. I am just curious as to what you think of it? How has the past year been?

Well to be honest, Its another one year of intense accelerated study. You have to put in atleast 6-8 hours of study time everyday to pass a class, and if you flunk one class you are out of the program. Working is not an option while you are enrolled in this program, the standards are so high that there is no way you can cruise through the program. But all effort is going to pay in the end, you will be getting out of Florida's # 1 school. Oh!!! Forgot to mention extra $40,000 added to your student loans.

If anyone that has posted here has any advice on U of Miami NP program, I would greatly appreciate it. I am wondering about the difficulty level of the one year vs. two. Did anyone hold a job/have children?

Hello- information can be found on their website: http://www.miami.edu/sonhs/index.php/sonhs/academics/master_programs/family_np/admission/. I recommend getting all of your information in as early as possible. The GRE is not required for the program. I got in with a GPA of of 3.73, but I'm not sure what the min. GPA is. You could also call the school. I found them to very helpful and professional.

Can anyone who has graduated from the program or anyone who is currently in the program tell me how they feel about it? It looks like a great school. My only concern is the cost. I went to a cheaper school to get my RN degree and I can honestly say that the quality of the nurse depends more on who they are then where they went. Is it the same for the NP program? I ask because I am undecided as to whether to go to FIU or UM. Thanks for the advice!!
