Starting a thread for applicants interested in the University of Miami Accelerated BSN for Summer 2025
Hey, I applied in late October, and some prerequisites still need to be completed. Since I am military, I have taken every class from American Military University and Purdue University Global, including my undergraduate degree. I was just accepted into the program on the 12th.
Undergrad GPA 3.84 / Science prerequisites of 3.9. I am still not complete with 2 courses but just to give an idea of what you can have for acceptance.
I have 10 years of combat medic experience and I submitted 5 letters of recommendation from peers, a nurse I have worked with, an academic reference and some from my place of employment
Hi everyone & congrats on being accepted! Has anyone applied to FAFSA and if so, have you heard back?
I applied back in late Nov, early Dec but haven't heard back from UM yet. I had applied for the 2024 FAFSA but am not sure if this was correct or if I had to apply to the 2025 FAFSA. If anyone has any insights that would be great, thanks!

Thank you!
Hi Flower123,
When my husband attended we lived in Coral Gables which is about 5 to 10 minute drive from UM and is super pretty (can be a little pricey though)! Other close-ish areas are Coconut Grove, south Miami. If you don't mind driving you could always do Brickell, Doral, Pinecrest. I'm not sure where our clinicals will be held so that is also something to keep in mind since our time will be split with being on campus and at other hospitals in South Florida. For reference, I'll be coming from Southwest Ranches up in Broward County and it will take me about 45 to an hour drive to get to campus. Hope this info helps!
