I work at UH as an NA2 (same thing as a CTA) and I started at $12.00/hr with no prior experience. Mornings tend to be busier than the afternoons or evenings. Sometimes you have to split the floor if you are shirt staffed. It really depends on the floor and nurses as well as the management.
That's pretty high for a starting rate. They gave me part time evenings. I applied for full time nights or prn but I guess they felt my school schedule was going to get in the way. My start date will be on April 6th. What is orientation like and how long is it? Also am i able to pick up more shifts if I want to even though I'm part time? Also what is considered full time so I have an idea of how many hours I may get or want? Sorry for all the questions I just like being informed.
Are you in a BSN program? I am and I applied for an NA 2 which is strictly PRN for that reason. Hopefully you dont have any evening clinicals or if you do hopefully you dont get scheduled on those days. What floor did you get hired on?
Orientation is really how fast you get your book signed off. You'll go to a new employee orientation and then you will have an orientation to the place you are working at. I believe full time is considered 36 hours?
I won't be in a bsn program until next year. I'm working on getting my lpn license right now only because I don't feel like waiting all day to get into an rn program. I was hired on the pediatric floor. I work in the evenings so hopefully it won't be so bad once I start. And ok I was just wondering because I didn't know what qualified as part time because I really wanted full time and I was going to pick up extra shifts once im done with orientation if that was possible.
Do you think it would be possible to have more than one job working there? I work at a nursing home in Lakewood so I've been struggling to figure out how to work both without conflictions. Are you able to set your own schedule if you work more than one or do you think they will work with me on setting a schedule? Also how long did your background check take to come back? I was told 5-7 days and it's been 6 days already I'm supposed to start next Monday so I'm getting a little anxious due to the waiting.

Hello everyone, I've been looking over a few forums on pcna experiences in cleveland ohio and I am having trouble finding anything about university hospital. I've seen numerous forums on cleveland clinic though. I have just been offered a pcna position on the pediatric floor of rainbows babies and I wanted to know if anyone knew what a typical day was like working on that floor or as a pcna at university hospital in general. I am also having a hard time finding out the pay rate for a pcna at university hospital as well and wanted to know what the starting rate could be either with or without experience just so I get a general idea of their payscale. Thank you for whoever responds I hope this will open up new information for me to absorb before I officially start.
