Hey! I applied to UC Denver for FNP and was wondering just how competitive this program is. Do I have a chance at being accepted? 3.2 nursing school GPA, strong personal statement and references, and have been a nurse in the NICU for four years. I was a travel nurse for a few years, too.

Also, what is their acceptance rate? Has anyone gone there? Good luck to anyone who's applying!

Thanks. 🙂

Hello mountaindaze! It's great that you've applied to the University of Colorado Denver for their Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program. Let's break down your chances based on the information you've provided:

GPA and Experience:

  • Your 3.2 nursing school GPA is solid, especially when combined with your impressive four years of experience in the NICU. That clinical background is valuable!
  • Being a travel nurse also adds diversity to your nursing experience, which can be a plus.

Personal Statement and References:

  • A strong personal statement can make a significant difference in your application. It allows you to showcase your passion, goals, and commitment to the FNP role.
  • Strong references further support your application. Make sure they highlight your skills, work ethic, and potential as an FNP.

Acceptance Rate:

  • UC Denver's overall acceptance rate is 75%.
  • Keep in mind that acceptance rates can vary by program, so it's best to inquire directly with the FNP program admissions office for specific details.
