University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) MECN 2025

Published

Hi! Just starting this thread for University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) MECN 2025. Good luck!

Hi there! Can any current MECN students give insight on what your schedule is like? How late are your classes and can you choose class times? Are you in class every day of the week or is there some flexibility? I'm looking to work while going to school and trying to figure out how that might happen. Thanks!

Hey Everyone!! Starting to get anxious about the application/decision process.

For those who got in the last cohort- any recommendations on what we can do while we wait for the decisions?

Thanks!

Hello! I am a current MECN 1 starting my second quarter. For fall quarter, I was on campus four days a week, this quarter I am on campus three days a week and then one day at the clinical site. You can choose your lab time (earlier or a little later), but I believe lectures are at a set time and there isn't as much flexibility. I know some classmates who are working while completing the MECN program, and were able to make it work. Good luck!

@Nervousnursey what were the average GPAs of people you met in you cohort 🙂

Hello! I remember being in your position around this time last year, and the waiting process was very difficult for me. I was not working or attending any classes, so I had a lot of down time. I picked up some new hobbies temporarily (yoga, going to the gym, antiquing, cooking, DIY projects) to try to fill my days. I also journaled, and set up a schedule that kept me pretty busy. I leaned heavily on support from family and friends, and turned to this forum quite a bit.

I wish you all the best of luck with admissions decisions! Hope that helps!

I'm actually not sure because I didn't ask anyone, at the most we just discussed where we went for undergrad.

Now that the applications have been confirmed as complete, the waiting is dreadful haha. Do any current or former students know if a majority of the cohort had healthcare experience or not? I'm part of the not, so I'm just curious about my chances. Thanks

I'm a not too! My major is related to healthcare, but sadly no healthcare experience yet!

How are you all holding up? I've been waiting for February to come! I hope they will release decisions sooner than last year...

@kataradakota I'm literally counting down the days until the end of February! I cannot wait! Even if it's not a good decision I just want to know LOL!
