Hi! Are there any U of A Nursing alumni or current students on here that would be willing to answer some questions I have regarding the program? I have applied to the program for Spring 2017 and have made it to the interviews. Being an out of state student, I am second guessing going to this school if I got accepted because how outrageously expensive it is. I haven't been able to get into nursing school in the state that I live in, but U of A is close to $80k for the two year program and I am trying to reason with myself. Any advice on what I should do if I got in would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there! I am a 4th semester student getting ready to graduate in December. If money is an issue for you, keep in mind that the College of Nursing has a lot of great scholarships that they give out. You can also look into student loans or working during school. Although it can be hard, we have one classmate who has worked full time all 4 semesters... although I wouldn't recommend it. But it's possible to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd if you have a flexible work schedule. I also work full time during the summers to save up when I can. Hopefully that helps, it's a great program and I would recommend it to anyone! Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi Brittany, thank you so much for replying! I have been placed on the alternate list for right now, so my admission to U of A is still on hold. Do you know anyone who was on the alternate list and got a spot, or got in the next time they applied?

Yeah, I know that at least 2 people in our cohort got on from the alternate list. So don't give up hope, but if not just take some classes next semester to bump up your GPA, it's totally do-able! Good luck!!
