Are there any students out there that have been admitted to the University of Alabama Nursing program recently and/or applying? If so, what was GPA when you made application to the program? I've heard that the GPA requirement is set so high, like around a 3.7 or higher that it is ridiculously hard to get in unless you have a perfect GPA. Also, they only admit in the summer and fall and you would think that UA being as huge as it is they would admit year round. I was gonna apply to the program but with a 3.2, I wouldn't stand a chance and I love UA, most of undergraduate work has been done there but they don't even give preference for that!

Hey there, I just got accepted into upper division at Capstone for fall 08. The average GPA for the summer was a 3.7. I applied for the fall because I had not completed microbiology yet, but I definitely did not have a 3.7. It was a trying summer waiting on their response, but all the hard work was worth it, especially after being at UA for 2 years. I encourage you to apply for next summer if you didnt apply/didnt get in for the fall. Oh, and they do give preference if you've done your lower division coursework at the university :)
