University of Akron RN to BSN program

Published

I will be starting Akron's rn to bsn program this summer and was wondering if anyone has been through their program? I was hoping for some details on how their program works. Thanks!

I just wanted to give an update for anyone who is interested in U of Akron for RN to BSN program. I just started the program and already I can say that it is a very good program. So far in the first class (I am taking online and it is 10 weeks), there are weekly discussion posts, with a requirement of at least 2 replies. There are about 3 chapters of assigned reading per week. I group project and 1 paper. The professor is available and offers great feedback.

I will point out that I had started Ohio Universities RN to BSN program previously, but it was terrible. 5 week classes. Discussion posts weekly which were only based on the book and nothing relevant to todays nursing challenges, plus replies. A paper EVERY week with no feedback other than APA formatting (so it seems a lot of work for nothing). Teaching assistants are in charge of grading all assignments and there is no contact with the actual professor.

I hope this info will help others!

I am a little further along than you. I am very happy with the program.

Did your credits from OU transfer? I'm not digging the program either and thinking about transferring
