University of Akron Accelerated BSN

Hey there,

Does anyone know anything about University of Akron's program? I was trying to determine the number of students they had enrolled but could not find the information on the website. I have applied and am waiting to hear back. I was just curious if anyone else had applied and if you know how many students they accept for each class. Thanks!

I have also applied for the University of Akron Accelerated program. I believe they accept around 90 student once a year into the program. Do you know when we may hear back on whether we were accepted or not?

Okay that was around the number I was thinking... Well I emailed the woman in charge of admissions about the nutrition course we have to take. They told me I could take it online but since it is almost $700 and no other school requires it I asked if I could wait and take it in March with an end date of May 10th- just to make sure I got into the program first before shelling out that kind of money. The prereq's start to add up.... Anyways, she said that we would hear after the first of the year. I am assuming we should all know in the month of January. They seem very nice at that school so I have my fingers crossed! Hope that helps!

Hey I have not heard anything yet. I e-mailed my advisor and he said that the acceptance letters should be coming out this week or the first week of February. Good Luck!!

Okay phew. That is good to know. For some reason I was thinking we would know about a month ago because that is the turn around rate at some other schools my friends applied to but those programs had less applicants and multiple start date so this makes sense. Thanks for letting me know! Good luck to you as well :)

I'm not really sure on how many students they admit into the accelerated program, but I'm in the basic BSN program there and we originally had 160 (some dropped/failed though... :(). I'm currently in a class that's for the accelerated students but since I am currently out of sequence, they allowed me to take it (basically, I'm a semester ahead...so instead of graduating in Spring 2011 I should graduate this December :yeah:) - to my understanding, accelerated students all take the same class at the same time. They also take classes in the summer.

Akron is a great program - I love it there :)

Hey I just spoke with the nursing college and they said they are trying to get them in the mail by this Thursday!

Thanks for the update! It seems like it keeps getting pushed, so I am going to try and not freak myself out. They must have had 500 applicants or something...

Hey, I did hear from them today but I would not freak out if you didn't. I am sure they did not send all letters out at the same time. I am sure how close you are to the school has an effect on timing as well. Hopefully you will hear by tomorrow!

I know these messages are from a while ago but I was wondering if you guys could give me some insight into the program. I was recently accepted to the acelerated program for May 2012 at University of Akron. How big was your class? Did you like the program? I am trying to decide between two programs so any insight would help. I hope this finds your in time. Thank you
