Hi guys I'm thinking about enrolling in the Sacred Hearts university of san juan puerto rico, however I'm a little skeptical due to the fact that the ADN is not accredited since the university is only CCNE accredited and not ACEN accredited. If any of you have any experience please let me know, thank you!

CCNE or ACEN are both recognized as national U.S. based nursing program accreditations accepted by employers and entrance to masters nursing programs.
CCNE accredits bachelors, masters and doctoral programs
ACEN accredits all levels of nursing education and transition-to-practice programs: practical, associate, diploma, baccalaureate, masters and doctoral. Their parent, NLN established the first accreditation standards in nursing in 1917.
You have a valid concern. When was the ADN program established as usually takes 3 years post 1st class started to become accredited as need to review NCLEX pass rate of program.
@NRSKarenRNThank you so much for answering! The program has been stablished for the past 11 years, the admissions lady mentioned that none of her past graduates have ever encountered any issues when taking the NCLEX in NYS, however I don't want to run any risk of something negative happening that's why I'm trying to do my research.
Thank you so much!

My advise: Their ADN program is NOT accredited by CCNE nor ACEN and you might encounter problems in the future when applying for the NCLEX or to federal government jobs or hospitals requiring having you graduated from an acredited program by those two organizations. Instead, go for their online BSN, which takes 2 years and is CCNE accredited. I had the same situation and was hesitant to enroll so I did my research and found it isn't worth it. Besides that, a RN-BSN credential in you license from an accredited institution will guarantee you higher earning potential and the opportunity to be admitted to a MSN program if you decide to become an Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner, for example.
I notice your comment is from more than 6 months ago and you probably made your decision already but if not, I hope this helps.
