Has anyone done this program? I'm looking into it and it seems great but there are hardly any updates reviews. Thanks!

They are not a full time professor/instructor if they do not have a DNP degree.
Oh so only DNP can teach the FNP portions?
It is going great so far. I have been impressed by the quality of our professors. It is hard, but it should be.
Greetings : Can anyone share what their clinical experience at United States University FNP is like ? The current requirement is 540 hrs.
1. How have you earned your hours ? Can you break it up per week ?
2. How many clinical sites do you have ? Can you have one from Primary Care for the entire program or do you need to have different specialties ?
3. Are you working full or part time in the second year ?
Thank you,

Hello,
First and 2nd question: so you are required to do 540hrs in 8 weeks. You can do 40hrs women's health, 80hrs peds, then rest is family or internal medicine. You can also do I think 40 hrs in the urgent care. So you divide the 540 hrs to 8 weeks..you do 2-3 hrs of clinicals every week. They will give you a syllabus and the required hours, where you can go to complete the hours.
Question 3. I had to cut down to .6fte when on the 2nd yr of gradschool. 2 days as a tele RN, 2-3 days of clinicals, then weekend for the deadlines such as presentations, etc.
Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for your response. I hope all is going well for you.
My math is not adding up - I was calculating 540 HRS in one year not 8 weeks. 3 hrs a week of clinicals x 8 weeks = 24 hrs
Am I missing something ?
Thanks again,

Woops my bad. So every 8 weeks, you need to complete 135 or 144hours of clinicals. You divide that by 8 weeks.
Aha ! Thanks for clarifying. I have access to the student handbook now that breaks it down nicely too. Are you done with the program ? Do you live in California ?
Thank you,
Patty

Yes I finished last year August. Working now as NP. I am from Seattle. If you need preceptors, ask for the list of clinics and start calling.
Awesome - CONGRATS ! - I really appreciate your feedback to help up and coming hopeful NP’s - Take Care
