30-unit lvn to rn????

I will finish my LVN this year. I have all prereqs for RN except for the three sciences. Actually, I need chem also. That will take me about another year and a half. I was wondering if anyone knows about the 30 unit option class? If I go right into it, what will happen when I am done? Will I be able to function as an RN in the ER? Will I get the RN pay as opposed to the LVN pay? When I finish my sciences, what do I do? Do I turn the classes in and then get the ADN? If anyone knows, please help with your advice. THANKS!!!!

Every time I have seen the requirements for the 30 unit option, it has stated that these students come after others in the line up for open spaces in nursing programs. In other words you only get into the program on a space available basis. Not very likely. You have to take the courses required by the program in order to finish, but you don't graduate like your classmates. Of course you know that your RN license is only good in the state where you obtain it. I only know of that option being offered in CA. You are good to go as an RN in the state where you obtain your license. If you want to move, then you have to meet the requirements of the state you plan to move to. Other states are not required to accept a license obtained in this manner. If you complete a 30 unit option program, you are still required to take the NCLEX RN in order to function as and be paid as an RN.
