Hello all!
New poster here. Have been lurking this site for quite some time & found it extremely useful. I have a unique situation...
The school I am (now currently) interested in only allows 2 total attempts for the TEAS. I have only taken the TEAS once, so far (in March 2014). My issue is that when I took it, I had every intention of transferring to a different school out of state, and was unaware of the fact that some schools could even put a flat out limit on attempts. The school out of state allows multiple retries & my ignorance led me to believe all schools were like this.
So when I took the TEAS last March, I was going through a very rough personal time (parent terminally ill with cancer), was sleep deprived, stressed, and quite frankly not in any sort of state to take it to the best of my ability. My scores were not horrible, but not great either.
Fast forward to now, I am focused and ready to give it another shot. I've realized however that I want to stay in my home state, which is why I'm looking at this other school that only allows 2 attempts. I know my best bet is to call the nursing dept there to see what they say, but I've already seen a counselor there and she basically said "too bad, two attempts only"
Has this happened to anybody else before???? I find this highly discouraging, as apparently if you fail twice, you're screwed forever. I SHOULD ALSO MENTION WITH THIS NEW SCHOOL, I have all of there minimum teas scores met except for the math portion that I missed by only 4 points!!!!!!
I'm lucky I still have one try left, but the thought still lingers in my head--- what if iI miss it again by just a couple points??? Then what? This is the one last hurdle I need to get past in order to get into their program, and I am so stressed.
Lastly... not that I would feel right doing this (or ever have the guts to just in case)... more out of ccuriosity... has anybody ever tried to make 2 different ATI accounts? Is that even possible? I'm assuming no and that a particular name can be registered just once?
Sorry this wound up so lengthy-- I really appreciate any and all insight!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

Do not start out trying to cheat, by attempting to create multiple accounts. Numerous program have this restriction of only 2 tries. Study a bit harder and use the ATI resources since you already have an account. Also to math sites there are tons. You tube can be a good source as well as Khan Academy. I brought a Groupon for Bench Prep it helped me. If you are caught attempting to do fraudylent things and the program finds out, you will not even be a potential candidate again. Also I am sure that if ATI finds oyt you will be blackballed too.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above poster about the ATI accounts. Definitely the wrong way to start out. Even if you didn't get caught right away, it could come back to bite you later on.
Have you used the TEAS study guide at all? I found that it provides good information as to the type of information/questions that are on there. For the math section, what I did was go through the TEAS book and marked which types of math problems/formulas I had a hard time with. I used coolmath.com to practice the ones I needed to work on.
I spent 10 hours on a Saturday doing nothing but math problems. I'd pick a formula, and go to that website and just do problem after problem. I didn't move on until I knew I had the formula down. That's what helped me the most for math.
If you're having trouble with science, the previous poster mentioned Khan Academy. There are also so many different videos on youtube. I found Crash Course to particularly helpful on youtube, but there are so many videos that I'm sure you'll find something that will help.
All you can do is try your best. If you still don't get the required scores, there are always other schools that may accept your scores or will allow additional attempts. Not all set the limit at 2 attempts. It may be the norm, but it doesn't mean it's across the board. Mine allowed 3 attempts (though the third attempt wasn't allowed until a year after the second attempt). Look into other options if you have to, but just definitely don't try to cheat by creating more than one account.
Good luck!

That is exactly how I feel right now. I live in California where nursing is so impacted. My first attempt was a 60.7. It was just bad. Last semester was actually horrible for me because that whole week I had 4 exams to do including the TEAS. I have my retake on Jan 31st and even with my ATI study guide plus the Mcgraw hill practice tests.
You can look at some schools in your area that you may retake the teas after 5-7 years and then retake it. There are also some places where you can take the teas a third time. You just need to really look hard for those skills I know it can be hard but you can do it.

I'm taking the teas V on Wednesday and the nursing school I would like to get into requires a 55 for the science section I was wondering how difficult that would be to score? Does anyone know out of the 48 questions how many you get wrong would bring you down to a 55?? Thanks!
