Unemployed nurse- How can I get a job?

Published

I graduated in May 2009 with my ADN. I have a BA degree in non-nursing. Unfortunetly I did not get a job as a new grad RN. I'm a student in RN-MSN program, NP or CNS. My question is : Do I need to get my BSN in order to get any nursing job or I can get a job with my MSN degree without BSN and RN experience?

you CAN get a job as a NP without any experience as a RN, but it's usually not easy. i guess it depends on where you live, but in my area there are too many NPs with years of experience to consider hiring one with zilch.

i would personally be scared to start working as a NP without any experience, but that's neither here nor there.

lots of NP programs won't even accept you until you've had at least 1-2 years experience as a RN.

You can get a job with a MSN with no experience. It actually is not all that uncommon since many schools offer a non-nursing BS to MSN bridge program.

You need to move to an area where you can find a job.
