I'm moving a very long way to attend school and wonder if I should bother to bring these books. I have referred to them occasionally as an RN, but they're dated now and I'll be getting texts for school that should cover what I need to know. I know I am definitely trashing A&P, psych nursing and pharm, those were stupid. I am taking the peds one to my summer camp job. How about med-surg and OB? Will they have any use to me at all as an SRNA? They're awful heavy.

Don't bother bringing your undergrad books. By the time you start CRNA school, they'd be outdated. Also, you'll acquire newer books related to anesthesia. You'll have all the information you need to know and, with access to the internet...even more information are available. Don't trash them though...donate them to your local library.

I don't remember the site, but there's an organization that's looking for nursing texts to send to the Tsunami ravaged area. You might try a search.
My library actually refuses texts! But I wouldn't actually throw them out, I'd put them on the "free" shelf at my old nursing school, or find someone who wanted them. Thanks for the help to you both!

I would actually keep the A&P book. I happened to keep my A&P book from undergrad, and it had simple explanations for things I couldn't remember.

I keep mostly all of my books, esp. the big ones like pharm, physio, anat. they always help out every now and then in certain situations. I would never throw them away. That is just sacraligious. I can't believe you wouldn't take those books with you.
I wonder if we can create an online book swap for just nurse anesthesia books? This would keep our book prices down, and let others get rid of books collecting dust or ones not being read anymore. Even when they come out with new additions, they are typically the same as the previous edition, just more expensive. anyway, just a thought if anyone wants to head it up. It will probably never happen, but it would be nice if there was an anesthesia book haven.

I still have all my undergrad books... of course I didn't have to move with them, or I might have gotten rid of some of them. I have found my undergrad A&P book helpful, and my undergrad pharm book just so happened to be the same book (only a different edition) that my grad pharm class uses. You might find some use for those books yet...

If these were anesthesia books I would absolutely keep them. My pharm book was extremely dumbed down and I found it frustrating to use as an RN because it didn't give the info I needed. A&P, well, it might be helpful, had I ever opened it as an undergrad.
