Undergrad BSN student: finish nursing studies in original or foreign country?

Published

Hi. I am a 19 year old BSN student originally from the Philippines, now an immigrant in Virginia, USA.

First off, I would like to apologize if ever I have posted this in the wrong thread. I just created an account here and am hoping for opinions from other people besides my family.

Amidst my studies in a well known university in my home country, our immigrant visa application has been approved. I just finished and passed 6 terms in my BS Nursing program (1st year: 1st, 2nd and Summer term; 2nd year: 1st, 2nd and Summer term). I basically have 4 semesters left before I earn my degree.

Now, I am unsure whether the units I have taken up would be credited here in the US. Which is why I am currently undecided whether I should take on the possibility of starting off a fresh page here in the US or finish what I have started back in the Philippines.

Thinking about the stuff that I have accomplished made me think twice. And I am really confused because my family's opinions seem biased and are not equally the same.

I am hoping someone would answer my question. Thank you so much and God bless all nurses out there!

Well it would be a lot quicker if you stayed here and started over. It appears it can take years for pinay nurses to be able to take the NCLEX RN here in America.
