Hi!
I'm wondering if there are any UNBC NP applicants?
I applied for the NP Program at UNBC for the sept 2021. Wondering if anyone else has applied and has heard from the university yet?

I got waitlisted so now it is just the waiting game.
That’s awesome! I’m waitlisted as well. Do you know how many seats UNBC has for this program?
I believe it's just 20 but I think they do generally get through a good chunk of the waitlist historically.
I'm just trying to see if I can make the program work and still do a move to public health in the meantime.
Oh okay. I thought they would maybe have 30 seats like ubc and uvic. Fingers crossed we get off the waitlist!
I guess it’s hard waiting because it’s Unknown when/if we will hear from them. Do you know anyone who was taken off the waitlist?
Hey @NicuRN88Mh did they end up telling you what # you are on the waitlist?
18 ?
You?
I’m #10. I wonder how many applicants they have on their waitlist. I couldn’t find any stats for this program either.

Hi @Nurse1289 and @NicuRN88Mh
My friend applied to unbc for the second time and was rejected. She recently made a move to Quesnel and the reason why she applied to unbc was because of getting clinical placements closer to home. I am surprised that unbc has a waitlist with more than 5 people as they have 20 seats. My friend doesn't have an account but was hoping you two could share if you knew how many applicants they keep on their waitlist... It seems they have at least 18 on the waitlist? There must be a high chance of being accepted from the waitlist? Thank you!! & good luck to you both ?
The wait list is made before any of the people who are initially offered respond so I think they do work their way down it a bit. There are only 12 full time seats and some people would rather reapply then take a part time seat. I do have a previous Masters of public health so I think that helped me but I’ve only been an RN for 2.5 years. GPA matter a lot too mine is about 86
Hey @ab_1, I’m not sure how the waitlist works as I too was surprised to see my waitlist #. I was also assuming there would be a small # on the waitlist similar to undergrad nursing programs. I’ve been a nurse for a little over 3 years. Since this is a rural program focused on primary care I think they do take applicants with more nursing experience as compared to some of the other schools in BC. I’m thinking of reaching out to the university in a couple of weeks to see if there’s been any movement. I’ll keep you guys posted.
I did reach out and they said everyone on the waitlist who does not get in will receive some feedback in September.
