UMSON DNP FALL 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello UM hopefuls! I have submitted an application to University of MD DNP program for Fall 2018. I saw that my application has recently changed from "Ready for Review" to "Committee Ready". Any word for any interviews at this time!!??

Hey,

I also applied for the PHMNP program but I haven't received any updates or email for interview. When did you get your interview date ? Thank you

Hello- I just had my interview. They had a lot of people to interview and 20 minute intervals so the questions started as soon as I sat down. (I made the mistake of being a little long winded with the first question.) The interviewers were bright and generous and asked many questions that you see online so you can prepare.

I also got a great impression from faculty! Altough I'm also nervous about whether I rambled too much. Ah we shall see in a few weeks... wish I could say I know for sure! Best of luck to everyone, it's not easy!!!

Never have truer words been said, friend! Good luck! It's an exciting challenge!

I got mine like December 18

Can you provide the link for these questions that you're talking about?

I didn't really use a specific one (a general interview prep site might work) and I feel like I only did "ok". Maybe you can find something better, keep your cool, and knock it out of the ball park.

Hey guys. So I had my interview today for the PMHNP program. I think I did ok for the most part, wish I gave a better answer for 2 of the questions but they basically asked me the following:

Tell me about yourself.

Why do you want to be a NP?

Why did you choose psych?

What's something challenging that you had to overcome and how did you deal with it?

How do you handle criticism?

What do you want to do with my DNP degree?

Why UMSON?

It was a laid back get to know you type of interview for the most part and the two ladies were very nice. It took about 30 minutes but ran a little longer because of my questions lol. They told me that it will be about a month before I get a decision and they will usually send a letter instead of email. Hope this is helpful to someone else.

That's awesome. Wishing for the best outcome for you. I haven't heard anything about an interview and I have resolved that I probably wouldn't. Might try next year again. Good luck to everyone that got an interview or had one already.

Thank you I appreciate it!

Did anyone have an interview today (Jan 17) for BSN-DNP (FNP) track? Do you remember the name of the faculties who interviewed you? Thanks
