Been awhile since anything was posted here. I went to UMSL on Tuesday, and registered for Summer and Fall. For summer I am taking Nutrition, Pathophysiology, and Nursing Information systems. Fall semester I am scheduled to take Pharmacology, Intro to clinical, and the nursing ethics course.

To widen the communication net, I have created a facebook group for our class. This will help people communicate, encourage study groups, post assignments, help people who missed something, or anything else we can use it for.

The facebook page was a great idea. I'm going to check it out as soon as I get home. Hopefully there will be a better response to the facebook group.

I also registered on Tuesday. I'll be taking Pathophysiology and Nursing Research this summer. During the fall I will be taking Pharmacology, Nursing and health, and Assessments.

Did you sign up for schedule A or B? I went for B since all the classes were in the morning this fall. I didn't want to take Pharmacology in the afternoon. This gave me time for afternoons of studying.

I'm on the B schedule. My advisor recommended going with the morning to give me more time to pick up my patient info for the careplans once we start clinicals and for studying as well.

The link to facebook was removed event though it is not a blog, rather a tool for student communication in this case.

To get to the site on facebook, do a search under groups for "UMSL BSN". We should be the second result displayed.

Just when I think things are going well, I get bad news.

UMSL only has 6 people signed up this semester for nutrition, and will be canceling it due to low enrollment. Where does this leave me? Out of the 2012 BSN class. Florissant valley is offering it, but you have to be enrolled in the early child care program, or be co-enrolled in a physical education program. I called and emailed the instructor to explain my situation and see if they will make an exception. The class at St. Charles filled within 25 minutes of registration opening.

Starting Spring semester of 2011, my A&P classes reach 10 years old, and UMSL has mandated that I retake them if I don't go to school this semester. Now I am looking having to retake core courses because they canceled one on me.

Not happy right now, and nothing can be done about it!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation with your classes. Have you ckecked w/ St Louis Community College? I know you're over in MO but SWIC has an online nutrition class.

It's starting to look up. I received a call from UMSL that the professor who teaches nutrition will allow me to take it as an independent study. I am planning on heading to UMSL on Monday for my books. I can't believe patho starts 2 weeks from today.
