HI,Going to university Med Ctr Tucson for travel assignment in ER. Any opinions on the place? Wgat about good apartments. Thanks

I'm on assignment at UMC now until the end of March. I have an excellent apartment in the foothills of the Santa Catalina mountains. We stayed in a hotel for the first two nights in town and obtained a local apartment guide at a drugstore. You can find an apartment in one day. There's lots of competition and deals. My advice, get as close to the foothills as possible. You won't be disappointed. Check out "The Greens at Ventana Canyon."
I work tele at UMC and they have a 1:4 ratio. Would definately come back some day. Don't really know about the ED. It's a level one trauma center so I'd say "fasten your seatbelt." Don't forget to check out some of the local attractions: Colossal Cave, Karchner Cavern, Tombstone, Pima air and space museum, Kit Peak National Observatory, Mt. Lemon, Biosphere 2, Old Tucson Studios, Sonoran Desert Museum, International Wildlife Museum, etc. Lots of good restaurants too. Oh, yeah, you're only 50 miles or so from Mexico. I think you'll dig it hear. I've sure had a good time. Good Luck.
