I researched both programs when I was deciding what path to take. Both are setup to be day programs..I'm not saying there are no evening classes, but the focus in both programs is intense study. I know that at MGH there's the option to go "part-time" once the initial component (up to the RN) is completed.
Getting a Master's from scratch is far and way THE most expensive way to go into nursing. You could get a BSN (less expensive especially at Salem State and UMass) and get your Master's part time, once you're practicing.
Regis college offers the courses during the evenings and though it is an Accelerated BSN to MSN program it gives you the option to exit after you get the BSN in about 20 months. So far, this program appears to be the best for my situation. The cost of just the initial BSN is about $50,000... yikes, huh? I figure it is a worthwhile investment and I'll get all that money back in the long run.
Did you end up choosing a program? Are you talking UMass Boston or Amherst?
Thanks for the advice!

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone has graduated from UMASS Worcester GEP program and could tell me a little about it. Was it good, level of difficulty, extremely time consuming, etc?? I appreciate any advice at all. I am so torn about which nursing school to go to. I've been accepted to Regis, but I'm still debating between UMASS Worcester and MGHIHP... any suggestions greatly appreciated. Also, I have two little ones (under 3) so I have to be able to balance both school and family!
Thanks!!!!
