UK RN to US RN

Hi,

If if anyone has any tips and advice it would be grately appreciated!...

I am a RN (BSc Adult Nursing) in the UK and have moved to the USA and wanting to get my license in SC. I have had my report issued by CGFNS and am deficient in clinical hours in OB, Peds and Psych and have to obtain these hours through a local college. The state board of SC has not been entirely helpful on specifying exactly how many clinical hours I need to have to qualify my license being issued, and the local college has never delt with this issue before so is unsure what exactly they can do for me. I need to contact both again for more info, but thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

Has anyone else been through this? If so how did they go about obtaining clinical hours and how many? I'm really struggling to find information on this issue online!

Thanks! 😊

Nursing programs in SC should know how many hours the BON requires- why can they not answer this question? What ever their regular students require seems like the answer.

They've said it depends on the University. If one University requires 90 clinical hours but another only requires 50, as long as they can give the credits for clinical hours the state board accepts. They also said as SC is part of the compact states, so if I find a University outwith SC that only requires 15 clinical hours and the appropriate credits then I can go to that University. I would really love to hear from someone who's been in this position to give me some guidance!
