Thinking about applying to UIC's GEP program. Anybody here applied and was accepted? What were your stats?
My stats: 3.2 Overall GPA/3.5 Sci BA in Sociology. Office Manager in home health care, tech in a medical equipment co, medical assistant (no cert) in dr's office and later office manager there. Volunteering in Nursing Home around 120 hours...
From what I can tell on their website, after completing the NCLEX, you immediately start the master portion of the program. Is this correct?
I felt the same way about submitting the supplemental app. I'm currently putting the finishing touches on my essays so I can submit it ASAP for my recommenders.
And I managed to upload my transcript from my university, but I don't see an another link to upload additional transcripts for courses taken after the completion of the Bachelor's degree...

Is every essay supposed to be 600 words? Or is it just the goal statement prompt #1?
And I am not too sure about the transcripts that are not under bachelors degree...I know they don't count towards your undergraduate GPA. But they will count when the committee looks at all your grades. Call them? :/
I already submitted and my other two essays were about 500 words each. I tried calling a couple of times on Friday with no response, but really couldn't wait because I needed to get the recommendations out asap. I'm confident that I gave enough information so hopefully it's okay!
Why didn't you just provide your recommenders with the sample form of the recommendation so they know what to expect and can use that template as a guide to begin their responses. In the meantime you could have worked on your essays.
One of my recommenders is going out of the country (read: Africa) for three weeks this coming week so it wouldn't have made a difference. I really didn't want to lose him as a recommender. Thankfully he's okay with it because he's already written some letters for me. I was just kinda forced to make a judgement call. :/
I only saw that the volunteer Experience had to be at most 600 words on my application. My goals statement is right now about 850 words. The rest had no limit and were shorter.
Yeah, I saw that same thing too. There have definitely been some inconsistencies between the application and what you can find on the website. Did you submit it already?
From my understanding the goal statement and the volunteer experience should be no more than 600 words. Others have no limit.
The website states that the goal statement should be no more than 600 words. And my supplemental says the volunteer experience essay should be 600 words.
I will call them first thing tomorrow and clarify this. Following the rules is very important!
