I saw that the 3 of you were admitted to UCSF's AGACNP program starting this fall... First off, congratulations! ?
Second, I was curious if you would be willing to share any details about your application? It is hard to find admission information about UCSF's "ideal AGACNP candidate" and I would like to know how my resume compares to those admitted. I plan to apply this coming year for a Fall 2023 start.
I will share some of my details... I have been working as a Critical Care RN in the Bay Area since 2015. I have SCRN, CCRN, & TNCC credentials (plus the standard ACLS, BLS, NIHSS). I have Charge RN and Rapid Response RN experience. I received my BSN from a Bay Area program and graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.66. I have a previous BS in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the CSU system.
I am happy to share other details or chat if you would like!
Thank you ?
Hi! I was going to private message you but it seems like I can't! From what I've gathered from alumni and also from the interview process, on top of having a strong academic background and clinical experience, they want to know your thought process and intentions behind wanting to do ACNP. If you can articulate why specifically ACNP, then you should be alright.
Also for anyone else reading this, critical care experience is not required! I don't have any critical care experience and during my interviews + talks with alumni, it was made clear that anyone can pursue ACNP if they have the right reasons for it. Hope this helps!
