Hello everyone! Just thought I would start this thread for those applying to UCSD's new grad residency program starting this August! I know the job listing should be posted within the next week or so (:

I will be moving from Montana and am currently looking for housing in the La Jolla and Pacific Beach areas. Would love to hear some suggestions for where to look for roommates/housing in the area ?
La Jolla is beautiful! I'm not from California but I'm moving to be with my dad/other family in Chula Vista. Definitely try to look for a roommate it's quite a expensive everywhere in California but been rising in San Diego. I've only rented through private land lords and I've had nothing but great experiences so if that's possible for you to do I totally recommend it! For roommates, you can try to look on UCSD general posts for graduates looking to stay ?

I'm a little late to this thread. I see a few questions about updates. I interviewed for Neuro/trauma ICU on April 25th and received an offer on May 3rd. Hope this helps, best of luck everyone!!
Hi congratulations!
I have 2 questions.. Did you only interview for the neuro ICU? Or were other ICU's present? Also.. Do you have experience in the neuro ICU?
Did your online status change?
Thank you! Congrats again

Hi there!
Thank you! Yes, I only interviewed for neuro ICU, but it was also my top choice so that could be a reason. My online status says "accepted 3/5/23" and the job status says "open". I never checked my status until just now, so I'm not sure what it said before.

Okay great, thank you! I'm just nervous, so wondering if they are still sending out offers for other ICU's.

Did you apply to the New Grad program or was it a regular Nursing position? I don't remember Neuro ICU being one of the application choices. And I believe it was a panel interview with all of the ICU's os curious why you only interviewed with one ICU

Yes, I applied to the New Grad program, I graduate May 26th. The unit is JMC 3F, which was an option on the application. My interview was an interview with 5 people. 2 staff nurses from the unit, 2 charge nurses from the unit, as well as the hiring manager.

Got it. Congratulations! And best of luck on your nursing journey.
